Mr. Bryant's experience in the area of criminal and traffic law began while he was a law student at the University of Georgia. During his second and third years of law school (1986-1988), he worked as a part-time law clerk in the Clarke County State Court Solicitor's Office where he was qualified by the Georgia Supreme Court to act as lead prosecutor in a variety of cases, including numerous jury trials involving a wide range of misdemeanor charges. In fact, he tried (and won) more jury trials as a law student than any of his fellow classmates, and probably more than any other law student in the state or nation. Those experiences, coupled with his winning the 2nd Year Mock Trial Competition in 1987, gave Mr. Bryant un-equaled courtroom experience as he graduated law school. Immediately upon graduation, Mr. Bryant used his valuable law school courtroom experience and skills to quickly begin and grow a successful criminal defense trial practice, which includes representing individuals charged with a wide range of criminal offenses. For over thirty (30) years, Mr. Bryant has successfully represented clients throughout metropolitan Atlanta and North Georgia charged with the full range of traffic, DUI, misdemeanor and felony offenses. That representation always begins with a candid and professional assessment of a client's options together with a knowledge of and relationship with both the prosecutors and judges who will have an impact on the case. If the facts and law are favorable, Mr. Bryant will aggressively defend a case through appropriate pre-trial motions, trial, and if necessary, an appeal. If the facts and law are unfavorable, he will zealously advocate his client's position to the prosecutor and judge in order to obtain the most favorable result without engaging in the expensive, time-consuming and ineffective procedures and delays often used by other attorneys. Mr. Bryant's experience and talents in the traffic law and local ordinance enforcemant field have long been recognized by three municipalities in Gwinnett County where he has been repeatedly appointed to serve as their court's Solicitor General, or lead prosecutor. Formerly as the Solicitor General for the City of Lawrenceville and presently the Solicitor General for both the City of Duluth and the City of Lilburn, Mr. Bryant has now accumulated over thirty years experience in prosecuting all variety of traffic and local ordinance violations - from building and zoning to serious traffic misdemeanors. That lengthy and on-going prosecutorial experience proves invaluable to Mr. Bryant's criminal defense clients as he is extremely knowledgeable in the area of traffic law, understands the issues that must be considered in each type of traffic case, knows the tools and techniques used by prosecutors to obtain convictions and how to counter those techniques, and is widely respected by prosecutors and judges throughout the Atlanta and North Georgia areas. Hundreds, if not thousands, of his clients have had their charges dismissed or reduced and their sentences greatly improved as a result of both his criminal prosecution and criminal defense experience and relationships. Mr. Bryant regularly represents his criminal defense clients in numerous courtrooms, counties and cities throughout the greater-Atlanta and North Georgia areas including: He most frequently
appears in: Gwinnett County Recorder's Courts, Gwinnett County Juvenile Courts, Gwinnett County Magistrate Courts, Gwinnett County State Courts and Gwinnett County Superior
Courts. He also routinely represents clients charged with criminal
traffic law offenses, driving under the influence (DUI) violations, and local ordinance violations in various municipal courtrooms around the metropolitan Atlanta area, including all of the following City Municipal Courts:
Other
attorneys may promise potential clients the moon based upon false and
misleading claims of success. Mr. Bryant promises his clients only
aggressive, effective and experienced representation. The positive
results he has achieved during the full span of his legal career speak
for themselves. Ask
around - chances are that someone you know has either used Mr. Bryant
as their attorney or is otherwise familiar with his reputation as a
seasoned trial lawyer and widely known and respected criminal defense attorney.
Feel free to call us if you too would like to benefit from Mr. Bryant's extensive experience and professional relationships in the area of criminal law. Relevant Legal Terminology: Arraignment - The first court appearance for a person formerly charged with a criminal offense. At arraignment, the Defendant is entitled to be informed of the exact criminal charges against him/her and is required to enter a plea of Guilty, Not Guilty, or (where permitted) No Contest. In most cases, an attorney will "waive" formal arraignment on behalf of the client. Special Demurrer - a technically based and specific challenge to the criminal charging instrument which asserts that some portion of the criminal charge is defective or ambiguous and therefore the charge should be dismissed. Exculpatory Evidence - evidence which may justify or excuse a criminal defendant's actions or which may show that the defendant is not guilty or had no criminal intent at the time of the alleged criminal conduct.
